Originally from England, John has embraced a truly international lifestyle, having lived in seven different countries. His love for sailing blossomed while studying at the University of Toronto, leading him to transition from a corporate career to professional sailing. John has expertly navigated yachts across the Caribbean and the stunning waters of Greece.

In addition to his passion for sailing, John is a wine enthusiast with extensive experience in the wine industry. He once managed Canada’s largest wine auction and holds a sommelier certification, allowing him to expertly pair exquisite wines with the chef’s culinary creations.

A lover of the ocean, John takes pride in guiding guests to the best snorkeling and diving spots. With a degree in history, he also enjoys sharing the colourful stories of the British Virgin Islands, enriching the experience for those he hosts.

Chef Bryny Van Wyk
Bryny grew up along the beautiful coastlines of South Africa, as a passionate surfer, chasing waves at dawn and spending countless hours in the water. This ignited a lifelong love and deep connection for the ocean.

Blending her love for the sea with the joy of cooking meals on the water. “There’s something magical about preparing food while being surrounded by endless blue, where the oceans energy fuels my creativity”

Later in life Bryny discovered the thrill of dinghy sailing, a new way to explore the natural forces of wind and water. This experience sparked a deep passion for sailing and navigating the open seas. Constantly inspired by its power, beauty and unpredictability.

As a surfer, sailor & chef every wave, journey & meal is a reminder of life’s simple, yet profound pleasures. “The ocean is not just my playground, but my home”

Quite Simply The Best

Our captain John Yoxall was quite simply the best skipper we've ever sailed with. The safety of his guests was always priority #1 throughout the charter… We came to realize that John considers one of his roles as skipper to be Ambassador to the BVI for his guests, a role he performed beyond expectations… We had an informal talk every morning about what to do that day, including John's wonderfully entertaining stories about the history of the BVI. His stories were so much fun that one of our guests promptly began videotaping him…In terms of drinks, not only was the wine and beer we requested available, but John mixed up a different, delicious Caribbean concoction for us every night, all of which were new to us. In fact, it's safe to say that John's talents on the grille were exceeded only by his bartending skills. His wine selections were well received by our group, especially the reds. And after dinner, port was served every night, our favorite!

Simply unbelievable!

Simply unbelievable! This tops all of our sailing trips! The cuisine was top notch! The crew wonderful, visuals once again divine and Captain John entertaining as well as best in the captain class. Sorry to leave, great memories forever.

What an experience...

What an experience Good Vibrations has been for our group! Captain John, Petra and Josee were the most gracious hosts. We never had to think about a thing because the crew took care of everything. We never had an empty glass, empty stomach or un-made bed. Petra’s cooking was unbelievable! We are amazed she can create the most amazing meals in her tiny kitchen. Captain John, Petra and Josee gave us the best information about where to go, what to do, and all the inside tips.

Good Vibrations is a gem of a boat! Wherever we went we heard people commenting on how beautiful our boat is. The Tiffany Blue is the perfect color for this beautiful paradise.

An amazing week...

It’s the last night of our charter, sailing around the BVI’s on Good Vibrations with Captain John, Petra and Josee. We had such an amazing week I don’t know where to start!

Since the moment we stepped on the boat, my husband and I, along with 3 other couples that are all good friends, have had an awesome time. Everything to do with the boat was expertly handled by John and we felt so safe with him at the helm. Petra was such an amazing chef; the food was just to die for. Josee as our hostess was always available and kept things neat and tidy and was the perfect bartender. The three of them work so well together and kept us entertained all week. They took us to the best places in the island. We could not ask for a better vacation. We can’t wait to come again! Thank you!

The most wonderful trip...

Thank you, John, Petra & Josee for the most wonderful trip ever! This has been the “trip of a lifetime” – from the beautiful scenery to the amazing cooking. OMG!!!!

All I can say is “OMG”!!!! This has been the best experience EVER. I could have never imagined what an amazing trip this could be. We have had friends do similar charters, but this is beyond anything we were told. The “Tiffany Blue” is awesome! I cannot wait to go back and tell everyone what I know about this trip. The crew was very experienced and the food was more amazing than imagined. You guys have made this charter more than I could have thought. The expertise is beyond imaginable. This was a trip of a lifetime that will never be forgotten. I look forward to our next charter with this same crew. It was above and beyond anything…..I already miss the crew and I have not even left the boat.
